Privacy.

Short, honest, and in plain language. The way we wished every privacy policy was written.

The short version

FACTS is local-first. Your daily readings, saves, and category preferences live on your device — not on our servers. We don't run a backend you log into. We don't know your name or your email unless you write to us.

We collect three things, all anonymous: app usage (PostHog), crash reports (Sentry), and subscription status (RevenueCat & Apple, if you subscribe). That's the whole list.

What we do collect

  • Anonymous usage analytics — which features get tapped, how often the app opens, which categories people read. Sent to PostHog. No personal identifiers.
  • Crash reports — when something breaks: what happened, on which device model and OS version. Sent to Sentry. No personal identifiers.
  • Subscription state — if you subscribe to FACTS Pro, Apple processes the payment and RevenueCat tells us whether the subscription is active. We never see your card.

What we don't collect

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Contacts, photos, files, calendar, microphone, camera
  • Location — at any precision
  • Health data
  • Anything you read, save, or skip — those stay on your device

Subprocessors

We rely on a small set of trusted third parties to run the app. Each has its own privacy policy:

Your control

  • Manage your subscription in your Apple ID settings. We can't see or change it from here.
  • Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. Nothing of yours stays behind on our side.

If you're in the EU or UK

The GDPR / UK GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. Because FACTS doesn't hold personally identifiable data on its servers, most of these rights are exercised by deleting the app on your device or directly with our subprocessors. You can always email us at hello@clarityfacts.app and we'll help.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Children

FACTS is rated 4+ in the App Store. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 13 (or 16, depending on jurisdiction).

International transfers

Sentry processes data in the United States. We rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards for that transfer. PostHog data is hosted in the EU.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, the "Last updated" date moves and we'll flag material changes in-app. By continuing to use FACTS after a change, you accept the new policy.
